The Origin Story: From Takeaway to Tech.
OrderPOS was born from real, hands-on experience — not from a boardroom or a corporate tech office. In 2021, while building software during the day, I was also working in my uncle’s takeaway in the UK. I saw firsthand how much money he was losing to third-party platforms and how difficult, slow and unreliable their systems were. Running a food business is already hard — the technology should not make it harder.
I know exactly what it means to chase a dream with limited time, limited savings and the support of your family. Independent takeaway owners are the backbone of local communities. They create jobs, share culture through food, and support local economies far beyond the plate.
That’s why I built the first version of OrderPOS specifically for my uncle — then quickly for other takeaways who were facing the same problems. My mission became clear: to give local restaurants the tools they deserve, free from hidden fees, payment commissions, and so-called “commission-free” systems that secretly charge per-transaction rates through integrated payment providers.

As someone who has worked inside real UK takeaways — on the kitchen line, at the front counter and with the management — I deeply understand the frustrations restaurant owners face every day: slow systems, confusing interfaces, expensive fees and unreliable support.
While my background is in software engineering, my real education came from being inside the industry and solving problems directly for takeaway owners. That mix of technical ability and real-world restaurant experience is what shapes OrderPOS today.
Every feature we build — from commission-free online ordering to POS speed, menu design, automated printing and kitchen efficiency — is designed to fix a real problem I’ve personally seen in the field. Our mission is simple: to help local takeaways grow, stay independent and never lose money again to hidden commissions.
